Entry Requirements for Ghana

All visitors to Ghana must be in possession of valid passports with not less than six (6) months' validity. All visitors entering Ghana who are not exempt, must have valid entry visas issued by a Ghana Diplomatic Mission or Consulate abroad or any other visa-issuing authority mandated by the Ghana Government to act on its behalf. ECOWAS nationals and those of other countries with which the Government of Ghana has specific bilateral agreements are exempted. All documents issued by Ghanaian authorities should be legalised at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Accra and the Judicial Service before presentation.

Conditions for the Issuance of Visas

• Applicant's passport must have validity of at least six (6) months after the date they intend to leave Ghana.
• Visas may be granted to visitors to Ghana for tourism, business or transit purposes.
• Visas may be granted for single or multiple entry.
• Visas must be utilised within three (3) months of the date of issue. Visas valid for up to one year may be granted for specific purposes.
• Visitors are required to have been vaccinated against Yellow Fever at least ten (10) days from the proposed date of entry into Ghana.
• Visa application fees are non-refundable whether your application is successful or not.
• Visitors travelling on business are required to furnish evidence of the fact, while those travelling at the invitation of Ghanaian nationals/residents or Ghanaian institutions should provide a letter of invitation from their hosts.
• Visitors must have proof of a return or through ticket or evidence of booking.
• Persons who enter the country as visitors are not permitted to take up employment even if there happens to be a vacancy on the Immigrant Quota of a prospective employer.
• Travellers are advised to have all the necessary documents before arriving in Ghana.
• Children travelling with or without their parents, must have their own passport or travel document, together with a letter of consent where applicable.
